Sustainability Policy

Hampton Beach House is eco friendly and we are committed to a clean, safe and healthy environment for all of us.

The challenge with our 1912 kauri villa was to retain its historical waterfront charm and provide a warm, fuel efficient and welcoming haven for guests travelling in all seasons.

Our sustainable environmental practices are :

• We have installed natural gas heaters in all our rooms which are thermostatically controlled
• Our guests have the option of reusing their towels and linen
• We use energy efficient light bulbs where practical
• We serve organic coffee, teas and use free range eggs
• We recycle all our glass, paper, plastics and tin
• We have a water tank which supplies runoff water for use in our vegetable garden
• Our food waste is composted in our worm farm
• We use local goods and contractors where possible to reduce carbon emissions
• We sponsor several native trees through the Kiwi Green initiative to contribute to New Zealand 's natural beauty
